My Favorite Park in Montana Is a Little-Known Paradise for Photographe…

If you wish to spend time outdoors, there’s no place greater than Montana. The Treasure State is home to not only breathtaking national parks but also state parks that amaze and inspire. While many of these outdoor destinations draw in quite a crowd, I love Medicine Rocks State Park, a place full of history, natural wonder, recreational activities, and beautiful yet unique scenery. Medicine Rocks State Park is located in eastern Montana, approximately 25 miles from the town of Baker. It isn’t a large park, but it has something to offer everyone, especially photographers and history buffs. Related Content This

Summer is my favorite time to get out and explore. I love to take scenic drives and tackle the hiking trails around the state. But, I’ve recently discovered that your next best summer experience in Montana may not be by car or in a pair of hiking boots — it’ll be in a canoe. The Clearwater River Canoe Trail is a paddling adventure that isn’t too long, is extremely scenic, and is perfect for a summer day. Great News, Trail Bridge Restored at Montana's Woodbine Falls

Great News, Trail Bridge Restored at Montana’s Woodbine Falls

Last summer, we made the trek up the popular Woodbine Falls trail in Montana’s Beartooth Mountains. It’s been two years since the floods, why haven’t these popular trail bridges been replaced yet? That was the question I asked last summer. Great news, the bridge at Woodbine Falls has now been replaced, and it’s bigger than the old bridge you can see in the file photo above. (Click here for Mack Carmack’s photos and report on the Q2 website) As Carmack reports, “the original bridge was closer to the creek, made from wood and completely flat. The new bridge is made

Hiker Goes Missing in Montana: Search Called Off

We all know Montana isn’t just beautiful—it’s wild, unpredictable, and at times, dangerous. From sudden weather changes to fast-moving rivers, grizzly bears, and rugged terrain, there’s always risk involved when we step into the wilderness. But in a strange way, that’s part of the draw. We chase the adventure, we soak in the beauty, and we accept the risks that come with it. Unfortunately, every year we’re reminded just how real those risks are. Whether it’s someone drowning, a dangerous encounter with wildlife, or like what happened just last week—a hiker who went missing—Montana’s backcountry demands respect. Credit: CanvaCredit: Canva

Wilderness educator warns hikers to avoid area near search for missing hiker near Red Lodge

CARBON COUNTY — On Thursday, Red Lodge Fire and Rescue and the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office announced the three-day search for a missing 23-year-old hiker has been put on pause. According to a Facebook post, authorities believe he drowned in East Rosebud Creek, after he was washed away by fast and high waters. Those same rapid waters are preventing consistent construction to rebuild trails and a bridge that were wiped away in the same area three years ago. See a wilderness educator explain the dangers of East Rosebud Creek in the video below: Wilderness educator warns hikers to avoid Beaten
