This Riverfront Vacation Rental Is the Perfect Home Base for Montana’s Best Hiking Trails

alt

Here in Montana, we are blessed with some of the most spectacular hiking and biking trails. Places like Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and the Beartooth Mountains provide extraordinary trails for a day or two filled with exploration. However, if you are looking for a diverse trail system filled with both urban and Forest Service trails, and options for both hiking and mountain biking, the Butte-Silver Bow area is a must.

The trails in this area of the Treasure State are extensive. Within the Butte-Silver Bow area, you will find a trail system that can take you through city parks and which utilizes railroad and stream corridors. You also have options like Butte Heritage Park or Copperway Trails that take you to cultural sites. Of course, there are also well-known trails filled with natural beauty like the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and Maud S Canyon.

Like I said … so many options!

With dozens of trails within a short drive of one another, it’s easy to spend a weekend (or an entire week) exploring one trail after another. However, in between all of these adventures, you need a place to rest and put up your feet — a place where you can recover before your next outing. And there’s nothing quite like this riverfront cabin Airbnb near Butte.

Large enough to sleep up to nine guests, this beautiful Montana vacation rental is tucked away in Melrose and offers forest, mountain, and river views. It’s the perfect place to rest after a day of adventure outdoors.

This cabin is certainly not small and rustic — it’s beautiful, open, and charming in every way. As soon as you arrive at the property, you’ll be impressed with the large wrap-around porches and design of the rental. Step inside and you’ll be greeted with an open floor plan boasting ample seating areas, a wood-burning stove, a full kitchen, and a dining area. Please note that stairs are required to access this cabin.

There are three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms throughout the cabin, providing plenty of space for the entire family. Spread out and take a nap, reflect on your day’s adventure, or meet together for games and good conversation — it’s truly a home-away-from-home. You can also bring your favorite furry friend to this Airbnb, although a pet fee is required.

And while I find the interior of this cabin Airbnb beautiful and delightful, the outdoors stuns. You can sit around the fire pit, make s’mores, and stargaze. You are also steps away from the Big Hole River, where you can sit on the shore and enjoy the sounds of the flowing water or look for wildlife.

If you wish to disconnect during your stay, this location is ideal. While cell service is available, it’s limited. And if you plan to spend your days on the trails, I recommend utilizing a resource like AllTrails+ to gain access to hundreds of guides and to download offline maps.

Plus, hiking is just the beginning of the activities in this area. Spend some time fishing in the Big Hole River on the property, head to Fairmont Hot Springs, or visit Lake Agnes to hike and fish.

The trails in the Butte-Silver Bow area offer something for everyone. And when you set up base camp in destinations like this riverfront cabin Airbnb near Butte, you have everything you need for a nature-focused getaway.

For even more information, including availability and rates, visit the cabin’s Airbnb listing. And if you have any favorite hiking trails in the area, please share them with me by filling out this nomination form! I’m always looking for new trails in this area of the state.
